Neon Plates — Privacy Policy
Neon Plates is a car database and garage tracker made by Olex Apps, an individual developer based in Ukraine. Olex Apps is responsible for the data described here. If you have a question or a request, write to olexapps.dev@gmail.com.
In short
- No accounts and no sign-in. Your garage stays on your phone.
- The free version shows one banner ad from Google AdMob. Ads may use your device's advertising identifier; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first.
- Neon Plates Pro is a one-time purchase that removes ads. Payment goes through Google Play or the App Store; we use RevenueCat to check that your purchase is active.
- We do not sell your data. Google may use ad data to personalize ads; you can turn this off in your phone's ad settings.
What stays on your device
The cars you mark as owned or wanted, your garages, your language, whether you have Pro, your ad consent choice (kept by Google's consent tool), how many times you opened the app and whether it already showed you the Pro offer and the rating request, and the latest car data the app downloaded are saved in the app's own storage on your phone. We do not receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Car data and photos
The app downloads car data updates and car photos from our server at cdn.olexapps.com, hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, the server sees your IP address and basic technical details of the request in order to deliver the files. We do not use them to identify you or to follow you across apps. The photo credits screen links to the pages the photos came from; such a link opens in your browser, outside the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows a banner served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google: your IP address (which may be used to estimate your general location), your interactions with ads and the app, diagnostic information, and device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID, the app set ID and, on iPhone, the IDFA if you allow tracking.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time in Settings, "Privacy choices".
- On iPhone, the app asks for permission to track only after that form, and you can say no.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- Buying Pro removes the ads: Google's ad SDK then no longer starts, and the consent form is not shown.
How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Purchases (Neon Plates Pro)
Google Play or the Apple App Store processes your payment; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to confirm that your purchase is active and to restore it on a new phone. RevenueCat receives a random identifier the app creates (not your name or email), your purchase history for this app, and basic device and app version details. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Reporting an error and contacting us
"Report an error" opens your own mail app with the car's name filled in, and "Report an ad" opens it with a short form about the ad. If you send the email, we receive your email address and what you wrote. We use it only to answer you and to correct the car data, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.
Once, after you mark a fifth car as owned, the app asks Google Play or the App Store to show their rating window. Whether it appears is up to the store, and your rating goes to the store, not to us.
Sharing your garage
The share card is drawn on your phone and handed to your phone's share menu. We do not receive it.
Permissions
The app uses the internet connection. On Android it also declares the advertising ID permission and Android's Ad Services permissions that Google's ad SDK needs, Google Play's billing permission for Pro, and the network-state, wake-lock and foreground-service permissions Google's SDKs use to send their requests. On Android 12 and older, the app's file module also declares storage access; the app never asks for it and never reads your files. It does not ask for access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone or photos.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by writing to olexapps.dev@gmail.com. We hold almost nothing: the emails you send us and, through RevenueCat, the random identifier tied to a purchase, which we can delete on request. For data Google processes for advertising, you can also use Google's own controls. If you live in the EEA or the UK, you may complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Neon Plates is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts to handle data differently, this page will change before that version is released, and the date at the top will change with it.
Not affiliated
Neon Plates is an unofficial fan app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
